Groyne Reconstruction – Georgian Bay, ON

Weatherall Dock and Dredge reconstructed this existing groyne on the water. Areas of the groyne needed to be built up to prevent waves from crashing through. Height of the groyne needed to be consistent with the existing large boulders. The shape of the groyne needed to be irregular in keeping with the original design. The extreme edge of the groyne furthest from the beach needed to be tightened up for more stability. The beach area needed to tie into the groyne and be filled with boulders of similar size and height of existing boulders.
